The round raised walls of the PawPipie Calming Donut Nest Bed replicate that den-like security, giving your dog a safe space that genuinely helps them settle.

This is not just a comfortable bed. It is a behavioural tool designed around how anxious dogs actually feel.

The raised rim serves two purposes. First, it gives your dog something to rest their head and chin on — which triggers the same relaxation response as being gently held. Second, it creates a visual and physical boundary that tells your dog's nervous system: this space is safe, enclosed, and mine. Dogs with separation anxiety, storm phobia, and generalised anxiety consistently seek out this type of enclosed resting space.

Running paws and chin through the soft fibres triggers sensory comfort — many anxious dogs will paw at the bed before lying down, which is a self-soothing behaviour this material actively supports.

🐾 Raised rim all the way around — full 360° raised edge means your dog can rest their chin on any side. No uncomfortable gaps. No sliding off the edge. Just complete wraparound security from every direction.

🐾 Anti-slip base — even the most restless dog can circle, dig, and re-settle without the bed moving. The non-slip bottom grips carpet and hard floors equally well, so the bed stays exactly where your dog needs it.

🐾 Machine washable in one piece — wash the entire bed in one go. Cold water, no bleach, no tumble dry, no ironing. Air dry flat. Simple to keep clean and hygienic for your dog.

🐾 Available in Brown and Grey — both colours are deliberately neutral to complement any home interior. Grey shows less fur from lighter-coated dogs. Brown suits warmer home tones.

Size Guide

Choose the size where your dog can curl fully inside the bed with their nose close to or touching the raised rim. This is what creates the enclosed, secure feeling that calms anxious dogs. Too large and the enclosure effect is lost.

How To Use

First time introduction — do not rush this step. Anxious dogs can be cautious about new items in their space. Introduce the bed gradually rather than expecting immediate use.

• Day 1–2: Place the bed in a quiet, consistent location your dog already rests near. Let them sniff and investigate freely without any pressure.
  
  
• Day 3–4: Place a worn item of your clothing inside the bed. Your scent is a powerful calming signal — it tells your dog the space is connected to you and therefore safe.
  
  
• Day 5–6: Reward calmly whenever your dog approaches or enters the bed voluntarily. No excitement — calm, quiet praise only. Excitement can make an anxious dog more alert, not more relaxed.
  
  
• Day 7+: The bed is theirs. Do not move it once they have accepted it as their space — consistency is what makes the calm association build over time. Every time your dog voluntarily chooses the bed, the association between that space and safety deepens.

Combine with a lick mat or snuffle mat session when your dog first settles — the licking activates the parasympathetic nervous system which deepens and extends the calm state.
